We have been investigating force and motion. Last week, we determined that we can move objects by exerting force on them by pushing and pulling.
We categorized different tools that we use.
Today, to further our investigation, we took a challenge.
Challenge: Move the car by pushing or pulling without touching it with your body.
Students got to work right away to find their own ways of moving the car without touching it.
There was some dispute over whether blowing the car would make it move or not. One pair of students made their car move by blowing. Other trials were less successful. We decided more forceful lungs might push the car.
