If you’re like me, you’re probably wondering how it’s suddenly August.
You may remember that I spent the summer in Philadelphia coaching and training new teachers for Teach for America. This looked like 18-20 hour days of observing and coaching teachers, reading and revising lesson plans, and delivering sessions to help get a new cohort of teachers ready for the fall.
If you’re having a hard time shaking the back to school blues, ease yourself and your kids into it with some of the amazing, free offerings around the city.
The DC Public Library has a huge calendar of events for kids. There is programming at the local branches across the city.
And be sure to check out Sydney’s mom, Nicole’s blog, DC Thrifty Mom, where she catalogs free events for families across the DC Metro area each week
Or, if you want to avoid the inevitable, get yourself to the pool. Just be sure to bring a form of ID!
See you all August 28, if not before [hint, hint, classroom set up help]!
